I think the GCC agreement with Nepal is a trap for Nepal. This may be a very nice opportunity for today, but it will make situations even more boring later, we will lose our rights in our own country. This is the worst scene I can imagine. In history, we saw MCC had agreements with Srilanka in our close vicinity, but MCC agreements were concluded with many countries in Africa and the Middle East as well. The signing of the pact will take place on September 14, 2017 in Washington, D.C., between Nepal and the MCC, in the State Department`s contract room. Finance Minister Gyanendra Bahadur Karki and McC Chief Jonathan Nash have designated the compact agreement. Poor road maintenance in Nepal makes travelling and transporting goods and people difficult and expensive. To counter the high transit costs, the objective of this investment is to maintain the quality of roads on the strategic road network and to prevent the Nepalese road network from deteriorating further. The project includes a fund to purchase incentives to promote the development of Nepal`s road maintenance budget, in addition to the regular maintenance of 305 kilometres of the country`s strategic road network. The project will also improve road maintenance management through training and capacity building. Investment in this sector is essential to stimulate economic activity.
